Sculptra® has been FDA approved and used for aesthetic treatments worldwide for over 25 years.  This injectable volumising treatment stimulates the skin’s own natural collagen production.  It increases facial volume and skin tone gradually, naturally and in a subtle way.

Unlike Hyaluronic Acid based fillers, the results of Sculptra® may take a couple of months to become apparent. Results build up over time, with effects lasting up to two years. A particularly effective treatment for those wishing to combat facial hollowness or loss of volume due to ageing or weight loss.

What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra®  is injected deeply under the skin using a fine gauge needle. The treatment area is then massaged for a few minutes to ensure even distribution. There is little or no downtime.  You may perhaps have some redness, slight swelling or minimal bruising at the injection site – or possibly some tiny bumps on the skin. These will fade rapidly. Possible side effects are minimised by using the more technically advanced and more comfortable cannula technique.

Following injection, a mild inflammatory reaction is induced, triggering the creation of new collagen. The production of this collagen gradually increases.  A visible difference in facial volume will become apparent 4-6 weeks after the first treatment. Although optimum results are gradual, you will see an immediate improvement. Walk out of clinic feeling and looking refreshed. Skin looks lifted and feels smoother.

The treatment typically involves three injection sessions, over a period of three months. Results can last for up to two years.

AfterCare

Following the aftercare advice is important. For the first five days following treatment, a routine of massaging the skin 5 times per day should be undertaken. Simply massage the treated area for 5 minutes each time. This will stimulate blood flow to the injected area, developing a stronger initial collagen response. It also helps distribute the injectable solution smoothly and evenly into your skin tissue.
